Puzzicle: E-Learning Website Development for a Nonprofit

Puzzicle is a nonprofit on a mission to provide a free, world-class education for anyone, anywhere. The client supplied a finished design, and Mavens Strategies, a website development agency, turned it into a fully working e-learning website: a course catalogue, a mega menu, course pages with unit cards, and lesson videos that play in a modal.

Project overview

From approved design to a working platform

Puzzicle serves three audiences, learners, teachers and parents, with courses that run from early maths to SAT preparation. The team already had a polished visual design. What they needed was a development partner who could build it faithfully and make every part of it work: navigation, search, course listings and video lessons.

Mavens Strategies handled the development, matching the design closely while building the interactive pieces that turn static screens into a usable learning platform.

The challenge

A lot of content, kept simple

An e-learning catalogue grows fast. Puzzicle’s courses span maths, science, reading, computing, life skills, arts and humanities, test prep and economics, each with grades, units and lessons. The build had to:

  • Match the client’s design closely, including its circles, dot patterns and gradients.
  • Let visitors reach any subject in one or two clicks.
  • Present units and lessons clearly, without overwhelming young learners.
  • Play lesson videos without sending students away from the course page.

How Mavens Strategies developed Puzzicle

01

Design-to-Code Website Development

The homepage was built to match the client’s design: the circular logo badge, the curved photo panel, floating statistic badges, dotted patterns and clear calls to action for Learners, Teachers and Parents, plus Donate, Search, Login and Sign up in the header. Course Catalogue & Mega Menu

A single Courses menu opens a full-width mega menu with every subject area as a card: Math from Pre-K to college, Science, Reading & Language Arts, Computing, Life Skills, Arts & Humanities, Test Prep and Economics, each with its top courses and a View All link.

  • Eight subject cards in one organised panel
  • Top courses listed on each card
  • View All links into each subject

03

Course Pages & Video Lessons

Each course, such as Early Math, shows its units as a scrollable row of cards, with lessons grouped under clear headings like Counting, Numbers 0 to 120 and Comparing small numbers. Selecting a lesson opens the video in a modal with a Next Video button, so students can keep learning without leaving the page.
